Green New Deal
WE must move towards 100% clean renewable energy by 2030, PERIOD. We know that fossil fuels, and other burned gasses, rises into the atmosphere where it gets trapped, thus creating a “green-house effect,” which warms up the planet. We know that this global warming creates a vicious cycle; extreme droughts, rising oceans, and collapsing ecosystems all paint a picture of unimaginable suffering, which we are now only beginning to experience. The details and key points of the Green New Deal are well-documented; it will create millions of jobs, ensure a just transition for everybody (including the present energy sector), put front-line communities first, and modernize our entire society. When I’m in congress, I will fight to implement the nitty-gritty legislation, which will most likely be done in phases. I will work with only the most fierce members of the House and Senate, open my office to the most well-regarded leaders and advocates for a green future, and help organize efforts to sponsor, co-sponsor, and write legislation which builds off our current proposals, and into a multiple-phased, multi-trillion dollar Green New Deal.
